Our team

Jason Claridge – Director and lead designer

Jason co-founded Hawthorn & Hornbeam in 2019. He started his career working for a large country estate where he was heavily involved in the planting and management of native woodlands and habitat creation. His passion for trees was further developed whilst working in a grade 1 listed woodland garden. He went on to further his career gaining a wealth of knowledge from over twenty-five years’ experience in the garden design and landscape industry as well as formal study in horticulture and landscape architecture. The running of his successful garden design and landscape practice, Earth Landscapes, and his love of trees and plants led Jason to establish Hawthorn & Hornbeam.

Declan Carrig – Landscape and garden designer

Declan is a member of the Earth Landscapes design team and a passionate horticulturalist and plantsman. He also works on our projects and is heavily involved in the strategic planning of our treescapes. Declan has worked and studied in the industry for over ten years, and in this time has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience alongside formal qualifications in horticulture and landscape and garden design. He has a passion for the natural environment and how sympathetic human intervention can improve the ecology and wildlife that is attracted to certain types of landscape.

Claire Tiffany – Director and business manager

Claire co-founded Hawthorn & Hornbeam with Jason in 2019. She helps with the day to day running and development of the company using the organisational and analytical skills gained from her previous career in health intelligence and research. Working for a company that specialises in creating tree landscapes and habitats fits with Claire’s love of nature, largely gained from growing up in North Wales.
