From working in the industry for over 25 years we have built up some very special relationships with both UK and European nurseries and make regular visits throughout the seasons to not only select and handpick all of our trees and plants but also to keep up to date with the vast range of plant availability.

Our visits to a diverse range of nurseries, from large scale commercial producers to the small artisan growers, gives us a vast network/ catalogue to draw from to ensure we find the best trees or plants for your project. As part of our sourcing and supply service we provide clients with images of the actual tree or plant we have selected especially for their project to give them total confidence in the quality of our selection.

Biosecurity

Biosecurity is something we take very seriously at Hawthorn & Hornbeam. All of our trees and plant materials are sourced responsibly.

Biosecurity is becoming increasingly important as more and more diseases come to the fore and with the arrival of new pests and diseases into the UK and across Europe. With an increasing movement of plant material across Europe and into the UK, it is vital we protect our native flora and avoid potentially devastating effects.

We always source from reputable growers in the UK and Europe and check that they follow DEFRA guidelines for ensuring tree and plant health. We are keen that all trees and plants supplied by us have a fully traceable provenance.
